Urges Specter to Reconsider and Support Bill that Stops Cuts to Doctors and Keeps Medicare Fair
HARRISBURG, PA - Gridlock has paralyzed the U.S. Senate, derailing a critical bipartisan bill that would have stopped a 10 percent cut to doctors who treat Medicare patients, kept Medicare premiums fair, and made significant improvements to a program that 44 million Americans depend on.

MANCHESTER, TENN. - In August 1969 hundreds of thousands of people gathered on a farm in upstate New York to celebrate, music, freedom and counterculture. The Bonnaroo Music and Arts festival has become arguably the closest likeness to a “modern day Woodstock” and includes environmentally conscious performers like Pearl Jam who care about the fuel and carbon footprint they take to put on a festival with 80,000 people. This year, Sustainable Table and The Meatrix’s Moopheus have joined the lineup in the Planet Roo section of the festival.

GROVE CITY, PA - Earlier this month specifacally, June 5, 2008, was the 40th anniversary of the death of Robert F. Kennedy, one of the most beloved politicians of his era. I was surprised by the lack of commemorations by news sources, which typically jump all over anniversaries. No doubt, this “anniversary story” was a victim of media myopia regarding the 2008 presidential race.

By Amy Holman Edelman NEW YORK - You didn’t mean for it to happen. It certainly wasn’t intentional. But because of death or divorce—or maybe just an extended break—you haven’t been wading around in the dating pool for awhile. And, since you’ve last donned your swimmies and your bathing cap, things have changed. A LOT.

"There was once an ancient city. The ancient city fell." - Virgil, The Aeneid By John W. Whitehead
CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA - Increasingly, parallels are being drawn between the Roman Empire and the current American Empire. Yet while some may look to Rome as an inspiration, others believe it casts a dark shadow over us and our supposedly imperial aspirations.
